Sponsoring Church Receives
Financial Miracle
Received Windfall After Making Donation for Feeding Center in Northeastern Mexico
It was an introduction like any of the other times that we had the pulpit turned over to us. But this night was going to be very different. It was a Sunday night in a church near Lake Charles, Louisiana. Donna and I were on a short itinerary through the U.S., raising funds for our mission works in Mexico.
Before the pastor handed the microphone to me, he began to talk about their church’s building fund. The church had been raising money to make some needed improvements. As we stood by him he then turned his attention to our building project.
As you know, we were needing to rebuild one of our children’s feeding centers in a city in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico because the wooden structure was literally crumbling to the ground due to repeated flooding and termite damage.
As the three of us stood before the congregation that night he explained that the board had met before service and agreed that they should pay tithes on their own building fund and give the money to help us with our rebuild project in Mexico. We were overjoyed as we heard the news. We could envision how much help a couple thousand dollars would be to get us along on our project.
But our joy at the news turned to pure astonishment as the pastor announced how much the gift would be: $22,000!!!
We could hardly contain ourselves. It was a gift beyond our wildest dream. We were speechless; we didn’t know what to say. And we were very humbled by the outpouring of generosity, knowing full well that they could have certainly used the money to take care of their own needs.
And now, construction on the feeding center is moving right along. I have deliberately slowed the progress of construction to keep down suspicion that there is money that someone would want to extort from us. As you may recall, an extortion attempt was made against us last year over funding for a church building project. We don’t want a repeat performance!
Recently I received a call from the pastor who had made the donation for our project. He called to share with me a testimony:
A few years ago Hurricane Rita ravaged south Louisiana. Insurance rates skyrocketed. The church began to have to pay over $20,000 per year for insurance! There was talk that the church had been placed into the wrong bracket, but nothing was done. Not long ago the church found an insurance company that offered them a much lower rate, saving them $9,000 a year! So immediately they cancelled the policy with the other insurance. And then the first company discovered their mistake. Yes, it was determined, the church had been being overcharged all those years. And would you believe, they refunded the church $32,000?!
Imagine the joy of the church as they received the news. And then they remembered us and the sacrificial gift they had made to our ministry. That old saying still stands true today: You cannot out-give God! Their gift had been doubled in refunds and savings.
I rejoiced with the pastor as he shared the news with me on the phone. It just goes to show you that good seed placed in good soil will bring a bountiful harvest. Praise the Lord for His mighty works!

Work Progressing Steadily on Feeding Center
But Construction is Deliberately Going at Slower Pace on this Phase
In the picture below you see the beginnings of a dream that we have had for several years — a new feeding center from which to operate our Feeding Hungry Children program. For a long time our staff has struggled with less than adequate facilities, at times standing in ankle-deep rain water at the stove to prepare meals for the children. We simply did not have the funds to do the major reconstruction that was needed.
All that has changed as we recently broke ground and started going up with a facility that will not leak, that will not flood, that will not deteriorate. We are so grateful to a church in Louisiana who gave us a generous offering toward this project. We are building gradually (for obvious reasons,) but when it is finished it will be the nicest church facility in the neighborhood. Only the best for God!

Walls are going up on the new feeding center; in the background is the church we built recently
God has been blessing churches, businesses and individuals for sowing seed into this ministry. It’s a time of financial favor! Following is the testimony of a dear friend of ours who owns a photography studio:
It was early 2011 and my photography business was in a bit of a slump. Things were tight financially. While sitting at my desk, the Lord spoke to me to send an offering to Spirit & Truth Ministries. Because I knew it was the Lord, I obeyed, even though it was a financial strain. I have learned, even as a child, when God speaks (and you know it is God,) you obey and He will provide. Later that day, I began receiving emails and text messages from complete strangers wanting to book sessions with me. I booked a record 5 sessions that afternoon, and because of my obedience, the amount I gave came back to me ten-fold! I would encourage you to give to this ministry. Randy & Donna have been a part of my life for almost 30 years, and I know the life they live and the sacrifices they make for the ministry. There is no doubt that you will be blessed, but most importantly, you will be a blessing to the people of Mexico.
In His Love & Service,
